Content Standard
KC Daily is a curated local publication serving the Kansas City metro. We maintain an editorial environment focused on the common ground of local life, and we exercise full editorial discretion over the content of our newsletter, social media, and website.
We decline advertising and sponsored content that, in our sole judgment, associates the publication with contested social, cultural, religious, or political subjects. This includes content about political candidates, parties, or campaigns; religious doctrine, proselytization, or worship services; firearms; abortion; sexuality and gender; immigration; and similar contested topics. This applies regardless of the viewpoint expressed and applies to advertising whose subject, message, or primary purpose is centered on these topics, including service, event, and informational content built around them. The list above is illustrative, not exhaustive, and what counts as contested is a contextual judgment.
We apply this standard as a matter of brand and editorial fit, not as a judgment about any advertiser, organization, or community. This reflects our choice to be a publication that serves the broad Kansas City community without wading into issue-based persuasion, advocacy campaigns, or public debate on contested topics.
KC Daily's advertising space is limited and curated. We retain sole editorial discretion in interpreting and applying these standards. By submitting advertising to KC Daily, the Advertiser acknowledges and agrees to these Content Standards.
