Boulevardia Celebrates 10 Years This June
Boulevardia is celebrating 10 years in Kansas City with this year’s festival on June 14th at Crown Center.
Decadeology: Boulevardia began in 2014 and quickly became Kansas City’s biggest and best annual festival. The festival did not take place in 2020 or 2021, meaning 2025 will be the tenth edition. Boulevardia moved from the Stockyards District to Crown Center in 2022.
The Lineup: This year’s lineup features over 40 musical performances and is headlined by Kansas City’s own Tech N9ne. In addition to music, the festival offers a Maker’s Market, Silent Disco, and Taps & Tastes. GA tickets start at just $35, but prices increase on June 1st.

Opening

The Furniture Mall of Missouri will open a new 150,000-square-foot store in Metro North Crossing in the Northland.
Local Livin’: This will be the fourth Furniture Mall location (Topeka, Olathe, and Lee’s Summit), which has been family-owned and operated since 1933. Owners Jeff and Jamie Winter have been able to compete with online furniture shopping by providing personalized guidance and a fun approach to in-person shopping.
Macy’s → Mattresses: The Furniture Mall of Missouri will replace Macy’s at 400 NW Barry Road, Suite 150, which announced its closure in January. Renovations will begin on April 1st to create thousands of rooms of furniture and mattresses as well as a signature café.
A grand opening is expected before the end of 2025.

A Sourdough Bakery is Now Open in the Northland
Last week, Sour Rabbit Bakery officially opened its doors in Kansas City’s Northland.
Bake-and-Mortar: Owner Atsuko Hammann is taking her 30 years of sourdough baking experience to a brick-and-mortar at 7715 NW Prairie View Road. She ran an at-home bakery for two years before she and her husband, Rolf, opened the space on March 4th.
Best in Bread: Although not all products at Sour Rabbit Bakery are sourdough-based, Hammann is limiting the number of ingredients to be as gut-healthy as possible. The menu includes breads, cookies, cheesecakes, pretzels, and German streusel cake.
Sour Rabbit Bakery is open 7:30-2:30 Tuesday through Sunday. Hurry in, as they’ve been selling out of items daily!
