KC’s Best Reuben Is In Safe Hands

Breit’s Stein & Deli
One of Strawberry Hill’s most beloved establishments, Breit's Stein and Deli, is changing ownership after 21 years.
The History: In 2002, Bob Breitenstein opened Breit’s Stein and Deli after getting laid off by Mobil. Today, this corner bar is one of the most visited spots in KCK.
The Present: Now, Breitstein is ready to move on. He’s selling the business to John McClelland and Johnathan Griffiths, brothers-in-law from Liberty Fruit Co.
The Reuben: Breit’s is famous for its $6.99 Reuben sandwich which comes loaded with heaps of corned beef and sauerkraut. The new owners plan to only make minor cosmetic upgrades but leave the Reuben alone.
The new owners promise to keep as much the same as they can to protect the integrity that Breit’s brings to the neighborhood. You can visit Breit’s Stein and Deli Monday through Saturday for lunch, dinner, or late-night drinks.

Sporting Some Cash

Sporting Kansas City
For Kansas City Sporting this year, their greatest success may have come off the pitch as the team was able to nab more sponsorships than any other MLS club.
Scoring Deals: For the second year in a row, Sporting took home the title of most sponsorships in the MLS by totaling 125 sponsorships this season.
Everyone Kicks In: One area where Sporting was able to find success was in adding sponsor ads to the video board at Children’s Mercy Park. One such sponsorship came in the form of a $5M deal with the state of Kansas to promote tourism.
Netting A Profit: It’s no secret that professional sports profits off advertising, but the MLS has been profiting big time off corporate sponsorships in recent years. This season alone, MLS team sponsorship revenue grew by more than 15% to almost $600 million.
If you’re not familiar with Sporting’s 125 sponsors, you can check out the full list here.
