Betty In The Burbs

Betty Rae’s

Betty Rae’s, Kansas City’s favorite ice cream shop, is opening its newest location in Olathe today with an exclusive flavor.

  • 3’s Company: After coming under new ownership, it’s clear that Betty Rae’s is ready to expand. Not only will this location at 10470 South Ridgeview Road be its third location, but it has also explored moving into groceries stores.

  • Rare Flavors: The new location will be the only location to serve the new ā€œMonster Mashā€ flavor which is described as sweet cream ice cream with favorite Halloween candies mixed in and topped with a homemade salted caramel swirl.

  • Darified Air: Betty Rae’s changed hands in 2021 to Matt Shatto of the Shatto Milk family. Matt is putting his expertise to work to grow the brand quickly.

The new location will open today at 12 pm. Not only will Betty Rae’s be running specials all day, but the first 50 customers in line will receive free ice cream!

Scenes From An Italian Restaurant

Kansas City Business Journal

Italian Gardens, the iconic Sicilian-style Crossroads restaurant that once served Harry Truman, Frank Sinatra, and Billy Idol is offering a unique franchising opportunity in Kansas City.

  • From The Old Country: The restaurant, now named Italian Gardens Sicilian Style Pizza & Deli Sandwiches, boasts a rich history dating back to the Depression and authentic recipes passed down through generations.

  • Living Legacy: The new franchisee would get access to these century-old recipes and the guidance of owner John David DiCapo, a seasoned restaurateur and real estate expert. DiCapo’s ultimate goal is to find someone to carry on the family legacy.

  • Italian Heritage Festival: Head to the Italian Gardens restaurant on October 6th from 6-10 pm for a special First Friday Event honoring Carl J DiCapo. There will be fresh Italian food, live music, and all proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army.

Italian Gardens is open Monday through Friday until 2 pm. If you’re interested in the opportunity, you can contact Dicapo Foods directly through their website.
