Kansas City Star
The Kansas City Royals have quietly been evaluating a third location for the new baseball stadium.
A THIRD Location?: That’s correct. The Royals have recently been evaluating a third location in KC’s South Loop. The land where the Kansas City Star building currently sits is being evaluated for the new $2B stadium after the location was initially rejected 8 months ago.
More Money. More Power: Reports are surfacing that the late push comes from downtown developer, Cordish Cos. Cordish, who owns the Light buildings and the Power & Light District, who would like to see the team place the new stadium where the vacant glass structure at 1601 McGee Street resides.
Save Kauffman: The Royals have also seen a portion of the fan base calling for the team to stay in Kauffman. Over the last 2 months, the Save Kauffman Stadium at Truman Sports Complex has grown in followers by almost 700%.
There still is no exact timeline on when the Royals will announce any direction. The team had initially set a timeline ending in September, but now it’s looking like early 2024.
Tech
Kansas City, Legal Tech Mecca

Opus 2
An emerging legal software company from the United Kingdom has chosen Kansas City as its launch point for growth in the US.
Opus Who?: Opus 2 is a tech company from London that specializes in workflow management for legal firms across the world. The company already serves the top 50 international firms and 88 of the top 100 in the US.
Why Beau?: Opus 2 chose Kansas City thanks to its new vice president of global growth, Beau Wysong. Wysong, a veteran in the software marketing industry, is KC-based and has worked with Lexmark in Shawnee, Balance Innovations in Lenexa, and HighQ in Overland Park.
Building A Team: Wysong chose Kansas City because of the legal tech talent that was already in the area. Since he started in September, he has added 5 employees to the team.
The software-as-a-service company will continue to grow its KC base as it looks to expand its reach to more parts of the legal world.
