A New Milestone in Brewing

Vine Street Brewing Co

The next time you find yourself looking for a place for happy hour, consider pitching KC’s first black-owned brewery in the 18th and Vine district.

  • Vine Street Brewery: This June, Vine Street Brewing Co. will open to the public after completely renovating a nearly 150-year-old building. The brewery will focus on lagers, which are known for their crisp, clean taste and are less common in the craft beer scene.

  • Musical Influence: The founder of Vine Street, Kennet Coleman, started this dream over two years ago and chose his location because he wanted to incorporate the musical soul of the neighborhood. Coleman said his idea came from the love of beer and music.

  • Diverse Taste: The opening of this Vine Street brewery is part of a growing movement towards greater diversity and inclusion in the craft beer industry. According to the Brewers Association, only 1% of craft breweries in the US are black-owned.

Vine Street Brewing Co will not only be Kansas City’s first black-owned brewery, but it will also hold the title for first in Missouri.

KCI Flies North

KC Daily

In the latest aviation news after KCI’s $1.5B renovation, Sun Country Airlines and Southwest Airlines are both expanding their service to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. MSP is currently the second largest hub for Delta Airlines, offering a gateway to more domestic and international flights for Kansas Citians.

  • Northern Expansion: Sun Country Airlines is adding daily nonstop flights from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) starting in August. This brings the number of flights from MCI to MSP to almost double its 2022 numbers.

  • Southwest Additions: Southwest Airlines is also adding new routes to MSP, including daily service from Austin, Texas, and seasonal service from Fort Myers, Florida. The airline will also increase its daily flights from MCI to MSP from four to five, starting in June.

  • Growing Confidence: The expansion of service to MSP is a sign of confidence in the recovery of air travel, which has been hit hard by the pandemic. Airlines are adding new routes and increasing capacity as demand for travel picks up in the new airport.

With all of those cheap flights to Minneapolis, it might be time to grab your tickets for the Chiefs vs Vikings game on October 8th.
