The Boys in Blue are back! The Royals open the 2026 season tomorrow, as they take on the Atlanta Braves at 7:15pm at Truist Park in Atlanta.

  • Opening Day: The Royals look to build off the 2025 campaign, where they went 82-80 and narrowly missed an AL Wild Card spot in postseason play. The game will be broadcast on Royals.TV, a new streaming option carrying all Royals games for $19.99/month or $99.99/year.

  • Home Field Advantage: The team kicks off the season at home with Opening Day at the K on Monday, March 30th, against the Minnesota Twins. Parking lots open at 9am, stadium gates at 12pm, and opening day ceremonies begin at 2:30pm. Beyond opening day, the Royals have themed nights planned throughout the season, including Bark at the Park, PAW Patrol™ Day, Grateful Dead Night, and more.

Blue Springs' Eagle Family Has Hatched, With Bittersweet News

Blue Springs Eagle Cam

The bald eagle nest in Blue Springs has been the talk of the community these past few months, and now eagle parents Freedom and Liberty welcomed a family of eaglets into the world.

  • America’s Bird: The first eaglet hatched to much excitement, followed by a second and then a third, giving the community a front-row seat to a remarkable wildlife moment, especially meaningful as the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday this year. Freedom and Liberty have been diligently feeding and protecting the growing family in their nest.

  • It’s Only Natural: Sadly, one of the three eaglets has since passed away. While heartbreaking for the many community members who have been following along, the City of Blue Springs noted that this is a natural part of life in the wild, with factors like food availability, weather, and natural nest competition all playing a role in an eaglet's survival.

You can watch Freedom, Liberty, and the eaglets live on the City of Blue Springs Eagle Cam on YouTube.
