A Rooftop Bar with a “Midwestern Summer” Theme Opens Soon in the Crossroads
Bar Phoebe, a bar with a “Midwestern Summer” theme, is opening soon at 18th and Holmes on the roof of the redeveloped Holtman Building.
Modern History: Bar Phoebe is named after Phoebe Jane Ess, a Kansas City women's suffragist and legendary socializer who founded multiple women's clubs in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The space will have plenty of vintage nods, including cherry red Cadillacs, checkered floors, diner chairs, jukeboxes, and mid-century modern fixtures. The cocktails and food will also have Midwestern bar influence.
Hangin’ on the Roof: The indoor-outdoor space will be located on the rooftop of the historic Holtman Building (708 E. 18th St.), seating around 200 guests and offering sweeping views of the Crossroads and downtown skyline. Meanwhile, the floors below will feature a mix of office, retail, and residential space.
Bar Phoebe is targeting an early June opening. Follow along for updates HERE.
