Donutology

Happy Tuesday, Kansas City! Donutology is opening its second location in the River Market Trolley where a Made in KC micro store recently stood.

  • Westport Kings: After opening its doors in 2016, the Westport donut shop took off in popularity, entrenching itself as a neighborhood staple.

  • Classic Donuts, Just Small: Donutology serves several vibrant and flavorful bite-sized donuts. The new location will serve 9 flavors of classics, fancies, and other baked treats including a gluten-free option.

  • Hype Train: “The River Market Trolley is the ideal second location for Donutology,” said Donutology owner and founder Cameron. Donutology’s popularity has grown so much that you can purchase their shirt at Charlie Hustle.

  • The new Donutology Trolley opened last week and will be open daily at 7 am, closing at 9 pm on weekdays and 11 pm on weekends.

Where Are You? & They’re So Sorry

Blink-182

Everyone’s favorite punk rock band from the 2000s, Blink-182, is coming to Kansas City at the T Mobile Center next August.

  • Last Ride: The tour comes to KC after Blink-182 released its latest album “One More Time” this month. This will be the first time in over a decade that the original trio will perform together.

  • Kings Of ‘02: Labeled as “one big reunion party” Blink-182 hopes to capture the excitement that it enjoyed with millennials during the early 2000s when they released multiple platinum albums.

  • Making Up: Two of the band’s trio, Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus split the band in 2015 amidst major disagreements. However, since Hoppus’ 2021 cancer diagnosis, it would appear the two have been able to heal old wounds and are ready for another go.

Blink-182’s KC stop will take place on August 9th of next year. Tickets go on sale this morning at 10 am and can be purchased on their website.

Community College Comeback

PGAV Architects

Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is embarking on a groundbreaking project, constructing a $65M, 100,000-square-foot Community Education, Health, and Wellness Center in downtown KCK.

  • Full-Service Stop: KCKCC is working with partners, including Swope Health and CommunityAmerica Credit Union, to create a unique facility encompassing medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health care. The project merges education, healthcare, and community resources.

  • Earn Your Keep: The vision for moving KCKCC back to downtown, is that it would offer classes ranging from 1 semester to 2 years that can prepare students in the area for careers making $50-$70,000 a year.

  • Community Crown: The building will be a beautiful addition to downtown KCK that takes up nearly a full city block at 7th Street Trafficway and State Avenue where the former Seventh Street Methodist Episcopal Church stood.

Demolition of the existing buildings began last month with the hopes of completing it in time for the summer semester of 2025.
