Amore Pizza, Please!

Pizza Tascio, the New York-style pizza spot that is sweeping across the metro, has expanded again - this time into Waldo.
Waldo Location: The new Waldo location is the second Pizza Tascio to open in the area this year alone. This time it took over the former Classic Cookie space on the corner of Wornall and Gregory where the owner said he “loved the neighborhood feel”.
Huge Growth: After opening Pizza Tascio in St. Joseph in 2021, owner Erik Borger now has locations in North Kansas City, 39th Street, Lee’s Summit, Lawrence, Overland Park, and of course, Waldo. Talk about rapid expansion.
Thank You, Chef: Borger, the former owner of Il Lazzerone in the River Market, wanted to bring his NY roots to KC in the form of his NY-style pizza that Pizza Tascio serves either by the slice for $4-5, or two slices and a drink for $10. Borger’s flare helped land the pizzeria at #28 on the KC Magazine's best 40 restaurants in KC this year.
The new location in Waldo opened last Friday and will be open daily from 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Development
Apartments For Walking Commuters

Klover Architects
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority has handed over rights to a River Market property that will prove the perfect location for a new apartment complex for commuters using the Streetcar.
Transit-Oriented Apartments: The apartment complex, which was proposed as a “transit-oriented apartment complex” will be developed by 3G Developments at the corner of 3rd and Grand where a KCATA parking lot stands now.
What’s Coming: Plans are still awaiting final approval, but the proposed apartment complex would be a 245-unit complex with a pool just steps from the KC Streetcar.
Along The Trail: The proposed apartment complex comes in complement to three other such development projects aiming to capitalize on people wanting to live along the Streetcar, which is on schedule to be completed by 2025.
3G hopes to begin construction on the property by October of this year and finish by the fall of 2025. Despite the Streetcar being down this week for repairs, there are no signs that the target date of 2025 will be delayed.
