Restoration Planned for The Satchel Paige House in KCMO
The Satchel Paige House in KCMO will begin the restoration process after receiving a recent $750,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation.
Home of History: The house at 2626 E 28th St in the Santa Fe neighborhood was the home of baseball legend Satchel Paige and his family for over four decades. Over the years, the home has fallen into disrepair and was damaged by a fire in 2018.
Baseball Legend: A team of four Kansas Citians called “Pitch Perfect” is spearheading the restoration of the home and museum to honor Paige, who has been regarded as one of the best baseball players of all time. The grant from the Mellon Foundation is the first step for the estimated $7 million restoration.

Chiefs Near the Top of NFL Teams for Online Merchandise Searches
According to a study by online betting publication Oddspedia, The Kansas City Chiefs ranked #4 in the NFL for merchandise searches.
Red Kingdom: The study revealed that the Chiefs generated an average of 140,991 searches per month for merchandise-related items. The San Francisco 49ers topped the list with an average monthly search volume of 199,004, with the Arizona Cardinals at the bottom of the list with 10,533.
The Reason: This may come as a surprise, being that Kansas City is one of the smallest markets in the entire NFL. But having one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time on your roster, back-to-back Super Bowl wins, and the world’s most famous musician dating your tight end certainly helps.
Here’s to the Red Kingdom growing across the globe!
