Crows Coffee Expanding Operations to Troost Ave.

Crows Coffee

The locally-owned and operated Crows Coffee will soon expand operations to a 10,000+ square foot location on Troost Ave.

  • As the Crow Flies: Owner Zach Moores recently purchased two buildings at 3308 Troost that will house Crows’ roasting operations and a wholesale bakery to support additional cafes. The buildings will undergo renovations to accommodate the operations, as well as house a cafe and community gathering space.

  • Flying Forward: The cafe and gathering space will be developed in a second phase, but Crows will continue operating its three current metro locations: South Plaza, Waldo, and Red Bridge. Crows offers a full menu of coffee and non-coffee drinks, housemade pastries, breakfast burritos, and more.

The production space is expected to be finished before the end of 2025, with the cafe coming in 2026.

J. Rieger & Co. Celebrates the Launch of Rieger Straight Rye

J. Rieger & Co.

On Friday, local distiller J. Rieger & Co. announced the newest addition to The Rieger Whiskey Collection: Rieger Straight Rye.

  • Red Rye Day: J. Rieger & Co. celebrated the launch on “Red Rye Day” this past Friday, welcoming Rieger Straight Rye Whiskey to the collection alongside Rieger Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Rieger Kansas City Whiskey. The whiskey comes in at 90 proof and is 100% distilled, aged, and bottled in Kansas City.

  • Feelin’ Spicy: The whiskey is aged at least four years and features a 96% rye and 4% malted barley mash bill, which gives it the spicy notes commonly found in rye whiskeys. J. Rieger & Co. is among a small group of pioneers embracing a “sweet mash” fermentation method.

Order a bottle for pick-up at the distillery HERE, or find it at your local liquor store.
