Five Local Places to Grab a Drink This Weekend

Jim’s Alley Bar

Still patiently waiting for a reservation at 1587 Prime to get your hands on the dazzling, Taylor Swift-inspired The Alchemy cocktail? Same. In the meantime, here are five local bars that you should check out this weekend (or any weekend):

  1. XO - a vinyl-only, hi-fi “listening bar” in the Westside neighborhood featuring Japanese-inspired cocktails, natural wine, and small plates.

  2. Jim’s Alley Bar - a "hole in the wall" bar in the Crossroads named after WWII veteran James Pagliocco that celebrates family, integrity, and hard work.

  3. Fern Bar - a sugarcane and agave-focused cocktail bar in the Crossroads offering creative interpretations on classic cocktails.

  4. Jade Jaguar - a Mexico City-inspired cocktail bar replacing Bar Medici officially opens TODAY!

  5. Kohinoor - a gorgeous cocktail lounge in the heart of downtown KCMO that fuses Latin American spirits and inventive small bites.

There are so many great bars in the Kansas City area, so maybe we will come up with a random Kansas City bar generator. Could be fun. 🤷
