Morning Rounds Bakery to Celebrate Grand Opening This Weekend

Morning Rounds Bakery

After a “soft opening” phase over the past few weeks, Morning Rounds Bakery will celebrate its grand opening this weekend, October 10-12.

  • Early Birds: Andrea Rainey is the founder of Morning Rounds Bakery, a nurse of 18+ years who is taking her passion for baking to a brick-and-mortar in the Crossroads. Morning Rounds will open early (5:30am), and serve cakes, cookies, croissants, pastries, coffee, and espresso. The name is an ode to the hardworking health care workers making “rounds” each day.

  • Make it a Morning: The grand opening celebration will take place this Friday through Sunday from 5:30am-2pm. Friday will feature contests & giveaways, on Saturday there will be live music from 10am-1pm, and on Sunday 5% of all sales will benefit Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Morning Rounds Bakery is located at 217 W 19th Terrace. Follow along for updates HERE.

Fire Meets Art: Raku Day at House of Clay!

House of Clay

On Saturday, October 18th, House of Clay will host Raku Day, a one-of-a-kind fall event.

  • Fiery Transformation: Participants will glaze a handcrafted ceramic pumpkin, then watch as it’s fired to over 1,800°F and pulled out glowing white-hot. The piece is plunged into combustibles, where fire and smoke create shimmering metallics, dramatic crackles, and breathtaking, unpredictable finishes.

  • No Experience Needed: Raku Day is open to all skill levels. Whether someone is new to pottery or a seasoned maker, they’ll enjoy the excitement of fire and clay coming together. Every guest will leave with a finished pumpkin — a unique piece of art to display or gift.

Tickets should be purchased in advance as space is limited. Sign up now!

Mulligan’s Country Club Celebrates Grand Reopening This Weekend

Mulligan’s Country Club

Vintage golf brand & store Mulligan’s Country Club will celebrate its grand reopening this Sunday, October 12th.

  • Clubhouse Hangs: Mulligan’s Country Club opened earlier this year as a vintage golf shop with the slogan: “Reduce. Reuse. Reswing.” Their shop features a large collection of curated vintage golf apparel along with Mulligan’s Originals. The space temporarily closed this week, and will open with 1,000 square feet of new space on Sunday.

  • Re-Tee it Up: The grand reopening celebration will take place from 10am-5pm, and feature a full day of vintage-golf related fun. Putt-putt, cocktails from Sagebrush Rosedale, gourmet hot dogs from Scott C’s, live music, free goody bags for the first 30 guests, and (of course) an endless supply of sweet vintage golf merch and equipment.

Mulligan’s Country Club is located at 4759 Rainbow Blvd. in Westwood.
