Opening
The World’s First Museum of BBQ Sets Grand Opening Date
The Museum of BBQ, the world’s first museum dedicated to barbecue, will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, April 12th.
Smoke in the Air: The museum will be located in the shops of Crown Center at 2450 Grand Boulevard, Suite 231 in KCMO. Guests will be greeted at the entrance that resembles a Southern Pride smoker, before leading them through interactive exhibits exploring how meat becomes barbecue.
BBQ Buzz: Guests will also travel across the barbecue regions of America, exploring the Carolinas, Memphis, Texas, and (of course) Kansas City. The Museum of BBQ was recently named as one of Time Out’s best new things to do in the world, and we can’t wait to take a dip in the Bush’s® Beans Bean Pit!
Tickets are on sale now for just $10 (plus tax). Get them HERE!

Development
Downtown Mission Could See Massive Redevelopment
A massive redevelopment could be coming soon to downtown Mission, KS along Johnson Drive.
On a Mission: The development is led by Sunflower Development Group, who purchased the Mission Mart Shopping Center earlier this year. The group anticipates investing $3.5 to $7 million over the course of the next three to seven years.
Super Suburb: In addition to the retail space, Sunflower also plans on building a new 5-story, 96-unit apartment complex just south to the shopping center. Although the development is just down the road of the defunct Mission Gateway, developers are bullish on the area’s potential.

Sports
A New ESPN Original Series to Highlight the Kansas City Chiefs
ESPN, Disney+, and Skydance Sports have announced a six-episode docuseries on the Kansas City Chiefs, set to premiere later this year.
Behind the Scenes: Produced by Words + Pictures in association with Skydance Sports, NFL Films, 2PM Productions, and Foolish Club Studios, the series offers unprecedented access to the Chiefs' 2024 season, highlighting their franchise-record 15-win regular season, third consecutive AFC Championship, and third straight Super Bowl appearance.
Sports on Screen: Directed by Kristen Lappas, known for "Giannis: The Marvelous Journey," the documentary also explores the team's rich history and cultural impact. It will feature insights from key figures like Patrick Mahomes and Coach Andy Reid, and aims to showcase the drama, intensity, and heart that define the Chiefs.
The series will stream on Disney+ and ESPN. Learn more HERE.
