A Beer Garden Of Eden

KEM Studio

Happy Wednesday, Kansas City! Construction has begun on the Berkley Riverfront’s newest attraction, a massive riverfront beer garden.

  • Bikes & Beers: The beer garden, which will be named Two Birds, One Stone, will feature an open layout that overlooks the river with access to biking and walking trails across a portion of the park called the Grove.

  • Mississippi River Queen: The 8,200 square foot, two-story, open structure is being developed by Port KC and The Thrash Group, a development group based out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

  • Keep ‘Em Coming: The new beer garden is just the most recent in a slew of new developments planned for the area. Since the Current planted CPKC Stadium, the riverfront has seen the development of the Origin Hotel, several mixed-used developments, and the Bally’s Casino renovation.

The Origin Hotel, also being developed by the Thrash Group, is slated to be completed in 2024 with Two Birds, One Stone following closely behind.

Opening

Leawood’s French Immersion

Aixois Bistro

Over a year after Pig & Finch closed its doors in Leawood, Aixois will take its place.

  • Bonjour Leawood: Aixois, the beloved and quaint French restaurant in Brookside is expanding to its second location. After years of feeling too busy to open another, owner Emmanuel Langlade has said he’s finally ready for another location at 11570 Ash St.

  • Menu Is French For Menu: The new Aixois location will have a similar menu to the first, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with classic French favorites like trout, quiche, escargot, frog legs, and pastries.

  • Mussels Or Beaujolais: Langlade said that his goal is for the new location to feel like you’ve stepped into a classic French restaurant where you can have a bit to eat or simply enjoy a chat over some wine.

The hope is that the new restaurant will be operational by the beginning of 2024. Until then, you can visit Aixois at 251 East 55th Street every day of the week except Sundays.
