Our Picks for Best Coffee Shops in KC

Splitlog Coffee
Happy Monday, Kansas City! It’s getting cold outside, which means it’s the perfect time to cozy up inside a coffee shop and read a book or knock out a little work. Unsure where to try next? We put together a list of the best coffee shops in Kansas City. Here’s how we decided on the list:
Good Coffee: You can’t be included on a list of Best Coffee Shops unless you serve really good coffee. We chose places that offer something for all types of coffee drinkers; drip, lattes, espressos, seasonals, unique offerings, etc.
Good Reviews: Don’t just take our word for it. Every shop on this list has an average review of 4.5 or higher on Google.
Good Vibes: We’ve been to every shop on this list, and we can assure you that you’d be proud to show off Kansas City’s coffee scene by stopping at any of them. Big or small, industrial or cozy, quiet or social; each one of these spaces offers something unique.

Transportation
The Streetcar’s Manifest Destiny

KC Streetcar
Last week, Ride KC and the Kansas City Streetcar Authority announced the results of the East-West Streetcar Study.
All Aboard!: The proposed route would be 16 stops which would start at Van Brunt Boulevard, cut across midtown via Linwood or 39th Street, and finish at the University of Kansas Health System.
Show Me The Money: Funding for the project would likely have to come from a partnership between Jackson and Johnson County. In a recent poll, 73% of citizens said they would prefer a Streetcar to bus transportation if it were available.
Planes, Trains, Automobiles: Officials wanted to be clear that an East-West Streetcar would not be completed by the 2026 World Cup. This is, however, another step toward a transit system that connects all parts of the Metro.
Beyond a list of the initial stops, city officials are waiting for public input before making any substantial moves. Citizens can fill out a survey on December 1 for input on stop locations.

No Vacancy
SNL cast member and up-and-coming comedic star, Heidi Gardner, has often been on record saying that KC is the best city in the world. For her birthday weekend, the KC native wanted to bring her SNL cast to show them why. The question is- where did they go?
No Vacancy and KC Joe’s: The weekend started with a stay at the No Vacancy boutique hotel followed by a meal catered by Kansas City Joe’s because what else would be your first meal?
Wild Way and A Marching Band: The next day featured coffee from Wild Way Coffee followed by thrifting in the Crossroads at Daisy Lee Vintage. The party that night incorporated pizza from Dispatch Pizza and entertainment from a marching band and KC’s own DJ Sheppa.
Fox and Pearl and Funky Town The third and final day of the birthday blowout took stops at Baba’s Pantry, Fox and Pearl, and a party bus for a foam party at Funky Town in Raytown.
At the end of the weekend, the cast was raving about how wonderful of a time they had in KC. All of this got us thinking- if you had 3 days to highlight the best of KC, what would you do?
