Woof-Woof, Hooray! Kansas City-based Bar K was named the “Best Dog Bar” in the USA Today 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards.

• Woof Goes the Winner: This recognition was earned by a combination of a readers’ popular vote as well as a panel of experts. Since launching in 2018, Bar K has been a go-to spot for dog lovers across Kansas City, and now St. Louis and Oklahoma City.

• Four-legged Fun: Each Bar K location offers a bar, restaurant, event space, and dog parks filled with structures for both large and small dogs. They also partner with local organizations to offer weekly adoption and pet welfare events.

What’s Replacing Peter Piper Pizzeria?

After just opening in June of 2023, Peter Piper Pizzeria in the Ward Parkway Center has closed.

• One Door Cheese Closes: A spokesperson from CEC Entertainment said that June 30th was Peter Piper’s last day in operation, but another CEC-owned concept will take over the space….Chuck E. Cheese!

• Another Door Cheese Opens: CEC Entertainment has been overhauling Chuck E. Cheese restaurants across the country in recent years (good-bye, animatronic singing animals 🥺). However, they still offer classic video games, birthday parties, and pizza.

Chuck E. Cheese Ward Parkway will be the fifth location in the Kansas City metro and plans to open in the fall of 2024.

The Little Mermaid is on Stage Now at Starlight Theatre!

Under the (K) Sea. “The Little Mermaid” is now on stage at the Starlight Theatre in Swope Park.

• Sea to Stage: As a part of the AdventHealth Broadway Series, “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” started yesterday and with shows running daily through this Sunday (7/14). Each show starts at 8 pm and tickets start at just $12!

• Underwater Adventure: We’ve all seen the movie, now join Ariel on a journey of self-discovery and courage as she dares to defy expectations and follow her heart, reminding us of the power of embracing our uniqueness and pursuing our dreams.
