Café Corazón Named KC's 2026 Small Business of the Year
Last week, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce named Café Corazón its 2026 Small Business of the Year.
The Story: Founded in 2019 by Dulcinea, Miel, and Curtis Herrera, Café Corazón has grown to three locations with a roasting and distribution facility, wholesale operations, and a line of ethically sourced products, including coffee, yerba mate, and canned beverages. The multilingual team speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, and ASL, and maintains direct sourcing relationships with coffee farms across Latin America.
Other Winners: Five specialty awards were also presented: Emerging Small Business of the Year went to Fifth & Emery Frozen Yogurt & Chocolate; the Legacy of Kansas City Award to encompas; the Weida Award for International Small Business to Gray Ram Tactical; the Spirit of Inclusion Award to MADE MOBB; and the Luminary Arts & Creative Small Business Award to IT-RA ICONS.

MRS. DOUBTFIRE June 2-7 Kauffman Center
Everyone’s favorite Scottish nanny leads a hit Broadway musical in this theatrical version of the story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. Live on stage at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. TICKETS.
SNOOPY! June 6-27 City Stage at Union Station
Snoopy joins friends Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Linus and Sally for a romp thru the neighborhood that’s bound to end up with a football getting pulled out from under, sidewalk counseling and a puppy who dreams big. All of the fun, set to music for the Broadway stage. TICKETS.
