Three Metro Pizza Spots Named ‘Top 100’ in the Midwest by Yelp

Last week, Yelp released its 2024 list of the Top 100 Pizza Spots in the Midwest, and three Kansas City metro spots made the cut slice.

The list is based on ratings/reviews of Yelp users as well as feedback from Yelp Community Managers.

SantaCaliGon Days Festival Returns to Independence Square This Weekend

SantaCaliGon Days Festival

SantaCaliGon Days Festival, one of Jackson County's oldest recurring festivals, returns this upcoming Labor Day Weekend.

  • Rich in History: Launched in 1940, the festival celebrates the heritage of the City of Independence being the starting point of the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. The festival in its current form has been operating since 1973, celebrating 52 years this year.

  • Pioneer Party: This year's festival offers plenty of entertainment, including three nights of live music, a carnival, Main Street 1849 (a family-friendly pioneer party), Clydesdales, food and drink, and much more!

The Festival takes place from August 30th through September 2nd at the Independence Square at 210 W. Truman Road in Independence.

Kansas City Brothers Open New Space for Vintage Clothing Shop

Kansas City brothers and business partners Thomas and Reade Rex recently celebrated the grand opening of their vintage clothing shop, Rex Vintage.

  • New Space: Rex Vintage celebrated its grand opening this past Saturday at 1420 W. 13th Terrace in the West Bottoms. The large, open space above Good Ju Ju will allow the Rex brothers to scale their vintage clothing operation. 

  • Old Gear: The shop will feature a huge variety of vintage clothing, with customers now having more room to thumb through racks to find hidden gems. Daily updates on inventory can be found through The Rex Catalog on Instagram. 

The shop will be open from 12-6 pm on Tuesdays through Sundays.

Night at the Tower Returns to the National WWI Museum and Memorial

Celebrate one of Kansas City’s most iconic landmarks on Saturday, September 28th at Night at the Tower. 

  • Night Like No Other: This annual event raises funds for the WWI Museum and Memorial’s mission and programs. The party takes place within the museum and in the Memorial Courtyard overlooking the Kansas City skyline.

  • Main Event: The gala features food and drink, live music and entertainment, and chances to bid on spectacular packages. Check out last year’s highlights to see what fun the night holds!
