Billie’s Grocery
Local favorite Billie’s Grocery opens its newest location in Leawood this weekend!
A Local Staple: Since opening the flagship location at 3216 Gillham in midtown in 2020, Billie’s has grown quite the reputation in the KC food scene. In addition to the newest opening in Leawood, they also have Billie’s Juicery in Brookside, as well as recently striking a partnership to serve in CPKC Stadium.
What’s on the Menu: Billie’s is known for its gluten-free bakery menu; even by those who eat gluten (it’s that good). They also serve a full brunch/lunch menu consisting of bowls, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and more.
Growth is Good: The Leawood location will be found in Ranch Mart North at 3614 West 95th St. The space is part of a mixed-use development, and neighbors Meat Mitch BBQ and Price Chopper.
Although the space is holding a soft opening today for friends and family, the grand opening will be tomorrow. Hours are 8 am - 8 pm Mon-Sat and 8 am - 3 pm on Sundays.

Development
More Than a Jazz City

Mayor Quinton Lucas
Kansas City’s live music scene took a massive step forward in 2023, attracting 5 of the top 10 highest-grossing musical acts in the world to the metro.
Headliners: Forbes compiled a list of the 10 highest-grossing musical acts of 2023 and the top 3 all made stops in Kansas City: Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Ed Sheeran. P!nk and Luke Combs also made stops in KC, and came in at #5 and #9 on the list, respectively.
A Huge Step Forward: This was a great year not only for Kansas City music lovers, but the local economy. As recently as 2021, KC had zero concerts from the top 10 list. A big reason is geography; where music acts coming through the middle of the country opt for stops in cities like Denver or Chicago.
We didn’t want to, but…: We have to mention Taylor Swift! Not only was her Era’s Tour the #1 highest-grossing tour this year, but she’s now KC’s darling. Rumor has it she’s living here as we speak while she takes a break from her international tour.
