Café Equinox is Coming Soon to Family Tree Nursery in Liberty
One of Kansas City’s greenest coffee shops is coming to the Northland! Café Equinox will open its third metro location inside of Family Tree Nursery in Liberty.
Caffeine & Chlorophyll: Café Equinox operates from within the greenhouses, providing a lush, green environment for chatting, studying, or sipping on a Peppermint Mocha. The shop serves coffee from local roaster Thou Mayest, baked goods from Heirloom Bakery & Hearth and Mud Pie Vegan Bakery, as well as a variety of other non-coffee drink options.
Planting Roots: This new location will complete the trifecta for Family Tree Nursery, which will now operate Café Equinox shops out of all three greenhouses in the metro. The others can be found in Shawnee (7036 Nieman Road) and Overland Park (8424 Farley Street).
Café Equinox Liberty is expected to open in early 2025.

Kansas Athletics Strikes NIL Partnership With Local Ad Agency
The University of Kansas Athletics program has partnered with Walz Tetrick Advertising, a Kansas City-based advertising agency, to launch a new NIL program.
Taking Flight: The partnership, called Flight, is an innovative new program that will provide opportunities for Kansas athletes to enhance their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). It will help connect Jayhawks with commercial endorsement opportunities and work with Kansas' current multimedia rights partner, Learfield.
Rock Chalk: Walz Tetrick is a full-service advertising and marketing agency based in Mission and is one of the largest media buyers in the midwest. They were named the 2024 Small Business of the Year by the KC Chamber, and will work alongside the KU Athletic Department to connect athletes to powerful brand partners.

Gaia Masala & Burger Coming Soon to Westport
A Colorado-based restaurant will open its first out-of-state location in Kansas City.
KC or Bust: Gaia Masala & Burger was founded in Boulder, CO in 2019, serving a fusion of American, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant currently has four locations across Colorado, with another in the works in Fort Collins. The location in Westport will be its first location outside of Colorado.
Flavor Blast: Call it what it is: the menu at Gaia Masala & Burger is huge. The restaurant offers appetizers, burgers, pizza & calzones, cheesesteaks, masala, Mediterranean, naan, and more. But with an average Google rating of 4.8/5 across all four locations, they must be doing all of it well.
Gaia Masala & Burger will be located at 425 Westport Road in the former Kobi-Q location.
