Happy Friday! Take advantage of the three-day Labor Day weekend with one of the many things going on around the metro this weekend:
🍴 Hope You’re Hungry: The second annual Taste of Kansas City Festival takes place on Monday at Harris Park. The event is the city’s largest food festival featuring local restaurants, food trucks, and pop-ups.
🎶 El Buki: Mexican music icon Marco Antonio Solís is live in concert at the T-Mobile Center on Saturday at 8 pm.
⚔️ Whither be the Privies?: The 2024 Kansas City Renaissance Festival kicks off this weekend and will entertain 200,000+ visitors through October 13th.
🐴 Trail Crossing: The 52nd annual SantaCaliGon Days Festival kicks off today and lasts through Monday at Independence Square.
🍕 Friday Night Pizza: Head to Black Dog Coffeehouse in Lenexa tonight starting at 5:30 for Ibis Pizza Night, which features locally crafted pizzas, desserts, and drinks!
☘️ Wear Your Green: The Kansas City Irish Fest is bringing one of the city’s largest parties to Crown Center all weekend with Irish music, food, vendors, whiskies, and more.
🎨 Color the Streets: The Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival is a multi-cultural, community-wide celebration of the arts this Saturday and Sunday in the Historic City Market.
🍿 Movie Nights: Screenland Armour is hosting the 2024 Sundance Film Fest Tour this weekend, with seven short films being shown.
⚾️ Labor Day at the K: This Monday, the Royals take on AL Central rival Cleveland Guardians at the K with a Union Day theme!
😂 Time to Laugh: Comedian and actor Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers, Beerfest, Dukes of Hazzard) is performing multiple stand-up shows at The Comedy Club of Kansas City.

Go Wild at GloWild at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium
Starting next Friday, GloWild is back for its third year at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.
Go Wild: This lantern festival, presented in partnership with LEKTRIK ART, offers a unique and immersive nighttime experience through the zoo. The festival runs along a one-mile route and takes about an hour and a half to walk through.
Loop-de-Loop: This year’s all-new theme is “Legends & Lore” presented by Saint Luke’s. It will feature two loops: an adventure loop featuring Atlantis, dinosaurs, and pirates; and a fantasy loop featuring mystical lands like an enchanted forest and a fairy garden.
