All-New Giraffe Crossing Opens Next Friday at the KC Zoo

KC Daily
The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is opening the all-new Giraffe Crossing next Friday, May 29th — a major upgrade to the Zoo's 30-year-old Africa section.
A New “Spot”: Designed by TESSERE and built by JE Dunn Construction, Giraffe Crossing gives Zoo guests up-close access to the giraffes in a refreshed habitat with updated amenities. The exhibit is located near the Africa Kopje section of the Zoo, and offers year-round indoor and outdoor giraffe viewing to guests.
Better for All: The zoo's giraffe habitat is being redesigned to fix a 30-year-old layout where barn and savanna are a quarter-mile apart, limiting animal access and visibility. The new design connects the barn directly to the savanna, enabling year-round daily giraffe viewing, guest feeding stations, improved animal welfare, and enhanced visitor amenities.
Giraffe Crossing will open to the public at 9:30am when the zoo opens. Get tickets.
