Big Grove Brewery to Open in the Shops of Prairie Village
Iowa-based Big Grove Brewery will expand into the KC metro next year, opening in Prairie Village.
Cheers in the Village: Big Grove Brewery will open at the former Macy’s site in The Shops of Prairie Village, at W. 71st Street and Mission Road. Big Grove CEO and Co-Founder Matt Swift said Prairie Village “immediately made us feel like we were at home in a more neighborhood setting” This will be the first craft brewery in Prairie Village city limits.
Big Grove, Big Tastes: Big Grove is known for its craft beers, including the award-winning Eddy Family. Beyond beer, Big Grove will offer locally-inspired culinary offerings, a community gathering space, and community involvement through its dedicated nonprofit Big Grove for Good. Big Grove operates four locations in Iowa, along with an upcoming location in Omaha, Nebraska.

Film
A Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie Was Filmed at the Crestwood Shops
Brookside neighbors were buzzing this weekend, as film crews filled the Crestwood Shops to film a new Hallmark Channel Christmas movie.
Christmas in September: Film crews were on site at the Crestwood Shops for the filming of A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, an upcoming film made in partnership with the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Although the film will center around Nashville, the shops at 55th St. between Brookside Blvd. and Oak St. will be used for it’s charming atmosphere.
And…Action!: Hallmark Channel film crews returned to Kansas City following the success of last year’s Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. It pains us to mention this, but Holiday Touchdown will be returning this year…but with a focus on the Buffalo Bills.
A Grand Ole Opry Christmas is still in production, but will premiere this holiday season during Hallmark Channel’s 16th annual Countdown to Christmas.
