Green Dirt on Oak

This one’s for the lunch lovers! After the wildly successful opening in April, Green Dirt on Oak is ready to open its Daytime CafĂ© for lunch.

  • Don’t Overlook Lunch: Until today, Green Dirt on Oak was only offering dinner service as well as a coffee and cheese shop with grab-and-go items. Now the Daytime CafĂ© will serve lunch Thursday-Sunday from 10-2.

  • Say Cheese: The Daytime CafĂ© menu will be small, but mighty. Offerings include Fried Brussels Sprouts, Monte Cristo, Green Dirt Lamburger, Monger’s Choice Cheese, and more. Green Dirt plans on expanding lunch service to Wednesdays soon.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are encouraged.

Historic Building in Downtown KC Ready for Redevelopment

Molzer Development

A historic building and former hotel in downtown Kansas City has been acquired by new owners and is ready for redevelopment.

  • Flying Carpet: The Aladdin Hotel at 1215 Wyandotte St. was acquired by Kansas City’s Molzer Development in partnership with Free Heel Capital. Molzer says that the building will be converted into apartments and other mixed uses.

  • History Revived: The Aladdin Hotel was built in 1925, and named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It was renovated in 2006 as a Holiday Inn, until closing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
