Could the Chiefs Move West?

Manica

Since the failed tax vote in Jackson County on April 2nd, the city has been buzzing about the next moves by the Chiefs and Royals. Now, Kansas lawmakers are making a push to attract the teams to the other side of State Line.

  • First Off: On Tuesday, legislators pushed a bill that would have allowed Kansas officials to authorize over $1 billion in STAR bonds to cover the costs of new stadiums with 30,000 seats. However, the bill did not come to a vote before Wednesday morning, meaning it will have to be brought up in a special session or wait until 2025.

  • A Legendary Move: During the session, legislators were shown renderings by sports architecture firm Manica of what a Chiefs stadium near the Legends could look like. It would join other venues such as Children’s Mercy Park, the Kansas Speedway, and Legends Field in Western Wyandotte County.

What do you think the Chiefs should do? 🤔
