An Immersive Hallmark Christmas Event is Coming to Crown Center this Holiday Season

Have you ever thought “Hallmark movies aren’t real life”? Think again. The Hallmark Christmas Experience is coming to Crown Center this upcoming holiday season.

  • Christmas Came Early: Hallmark announced yesterday that Crown Center will transform into a Hallmark Christmas town square from November 29 through December 23. The experience will further elevate the festivity surrounding the Mayor’s Tree.

  • Big City Girl, Small Town Boy: The experience will offer chances to meet Hallmark movie stars, a Christmas market, food and themed drinks, ice skating, and more. The experience will be free, but certain events will require tickets.

Coffee and Donuts, Eh?

Tim Horton’s

Tim Hortons, the Canadian coffee and donut shop, will soon open a location in the Kansas City area.

  • Excuse me, “Timbits”: The Canadian shop is known for its coffee and “Timbits” which are its version of donut holes. The location can be found at 1128 NW Woods Chapel Road in Blue Springs, which was formerly a Burger King

  • Heading South: This will be the first Kansas City location, and one of the first Tim Horton’s in the Midwest (unless you consider Winnipeg as a part of the Midwest?). The chain boasts 5,500 locations across the globe, with 4,000 in Canada alone.

According to a statement from Tim Horton’s the Blue Springs shop plans to be open in late 2024 or early 2025.

The Kansas City Wheel is Hosting a Pet Adoption Event This Weekend

Rock me mama like a waggin’ wheel. The KC Wheel and Great Plains SPCA are teaming up to offer a special pet adoption event this weekend.

  • Adopt, Don’t Shop: This Saturday and Sunday, Great Plains SPCA representatives will be at the KC Wheel from 12-3 pm to share about the organization’s mission and help you find a new furry family member.

  • Bring Your Pup: The fun continues into Monday, as the KC Wheel will allow riders to bring their dogs on the wheel with them! (max 2 furry guests) Dogs must be leashed, and won’t be able to stick their heads out the window.

Thai Orchid Expanding to Metro North Crossing

Thai Orchid, the popular Thai eatery based in Mission, will expand with another location in Metro North Crossing.

  • Thai Up North: The second-generation family-owned restaurant will occupy 4,000 square feet of the Woodstone mixed-use project. It will neighbor tenants like Third Street Social, HOTWORX, Hull House Coffee, and others.

  • Metro Boomin’: Metro North Crossing is a 106-acre mixed-use development on the former site of the Metro North Mall. Future phases will include additional sit-down restaurants, medical office space, and hotels.

Thai Orchid plans to be open in late 2024. Until then, visit them in Mission.
