Spreading Joy: The CPKC Holiday Train travels all over Canada and the United States, illuminating the railways with 14 rail cars lit by thousands of LED lights and holiday designs.
Kansas City, Here We Come!: The train arrives at Union Station tonight around 6:45. The arrival will be followed by a concert by Canadian singer/songwriter Kiesza and country music duo Seaforth.

Electrifying the Industry

Orange EV
Local electric vehicle maker, Orange EV, recently reached the milestone of selling their 1000th vehicle.
Local Disruptor: Based in KCK, Orange EV is the #1 electric terminal truck manufacturer offering safe and clean alternatives to diesel-powered heavy-duty movers.
What is It?: Since launching in 2012, their trucks have been designed to move trailers through shipping yards. Not only do they offer zero-emission vehicles, but they provide a safer and more enjoyable driving experience to the operators.
Lightning in the Sky: President and CTO Kurt Nuetgens shared that the company doesn’t plan on stopping now. Orange EV recently finished their new 400,000-square-foot production facility in KCK earlier this year and currently employs 330 people.
Orange EV has goals to grow its business in the local market and expand its reach to industrial areas across the globe.
Development
Serve it Somewhere Else

KC Parks and Rec
A tennis complex that is located in the heart of the Country Club Plaza could be relocated and replaced by mixed-use residential development.
Prime Real Estate: City leaders such as Mayor Q and city manager Brian Platt have floated the idea of relocating the tennis courts elsewhere on the plaza, including some rooftop spaces. The current site of the courts on the east end of the shopping area could be used for a variety of development.
Fresh Perspective: With the Plaza gaining potential new owners in the near future, there have been a variety of conversations on utilizing space on the plaza in different ways. The tennis court redevelopment has been circulating for over a year.
Nothing SET in Stone: While no plans have been formalized, any new development would need approval from the KC Parks and Recreation that oversees the space. Any new development would likely be subject the the Plaza building height restrictions.
Until then, you can check out the Plaza Tennis Center at the intersection of Ward Parkway and Mill Creek Parkway.
