I havenāt tried my hand at pottery since high school art class, but thatās about to change. Hereās why:

House of Clay Opening This Weekend in Overland Park
A new pottery studio and gallery called House of Clay opens this Saturday in downtown Overland Park.
Clay it Again: House of Clay was founded by Augie Echeandia, who is sharing his love for pottery with the community in a welcoming and educational space. House of Clay will serve as a gallery for guests to purchase handmade pieces, as well as offer classes and memberships for aspiring potters.
First Mold: House of Clay is hosting a grand opening celebration this Saturday (5/31) from noon - 4pm. The celebration will include live pottery demonstrations, giveaways & raffles, food & drink, and special discounts.
House of Clay is located at 7811 Marty St. in Overland Park.

Waldo Thai Welcomes New Chef After Transition
After a short break, Waldo Thai reopened this week and welcomed a new chef.
Welcome Back to Waldo: After some confusion on the future of Waldo Thai circulated last month, the local favorite Thai restaurant announced it would remain open although chef/owners Pam and Ted Liberda were moving on from the concept. After a short break, Waldo Thai reopened this week.
Yes, Chef: The news of Chef Pam Liberda leaving was met with sadness, but Liberda personally selected Chef Chris Jones to run the kitchen after her departure. Jones has an experienced background in Asian and Thai cuisine, and will launch lunch service at Waldo Thai later this summer.

Save the Date for the Meadowbrook Park Festival on June 6th
Mark your calendars for Friday, June 6th to celebrate the 3rd Annual Meadowbrook Park Festival!
Meadowbrook Madness: The family-friendly celebration happens from 4-9pm on 6/6 and features craft vendors from Farfalla Events, food & drink, ice cream and mocktails, visits from Mr. Stinky Feet, live music, and multiple live performances.
Premier Park: The festival will take place on The Great Lawn on the southwest side of the 80 acre park. Meadowbrook Park opened as one of the Kansas City metroās premier public parks in 2019, and the Meadowbrook Park Festival launched in 2023 to bring the community together to celebrate the park and its amenities.

Food & Drink
Nourās to Bring Lebanese Food to Midtown KCMO
A new restaurant serving authentic Lebanese cuisine is coming soon to the Park 39 complex in midtown KCMO.
Family Affair: Chef Marwan Chebaro will open Nourās, giving the Kansas City community an authentic taste of Lebanese cuisine. The restaurant is named after Chebaroās late daughter, Nour, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 29. The restaurant will feature dine-in space, a bar area with garage doors, and a rooftop patio.
Taste of Lebanon: The menu at Nourās will feature handhelds like chicken shawarma tacos and lamb pockets, salad bowls, hot bowls, The Grill serving open-faced Lebanese bread with various toppings, and more. Nourās will also serve coffee from Broadway Roasting Co. and baked goods from Blackhole Bakery.
