A New Wine Bar from Familiar Faces is Coming to Downtown KCMO

Mineral Lounge, a new wine bar & lounge from the team from Tannin Wine Bar and Kitchen, is coming soon to downtown KCMO.

• New Spaces, Same Faces: Mineral Lounge will be found at 17th and Broadway, just a few blocks southwest of Tannin, and offer sweeping views of the Kauffman Center and Crossroads District. The new concept will feature small plates from Executive Chef Brian Aaron and a wine program from Wine Director Barry Tunnell.

• Wine & Dine: The intimate space offers bar, table, and lounge seating areas and a climate-controlled wine locker room. The menu will consist of Mediterranean-style small plates, such as cheese & charcuterie boards, saffron cous cous salad, rosemary focaccia sandwich, and more. See a sample menu here! (subject to change)

The team expects Mineral Lounge to be open by the end of July, and reservations will be available soon!

New Illusion-themed Exhibit Now Open in Science City

I spy with my little eye, a new exhibit at Union Station’s Science City!

• Don’t be Deceived: “Eye Spy” is a brand new, $750,000 illusion-themed exhibit within Science City in Union Station. The 2000-square-foot space contains 45 illusions and 15 illusive photo ops among five uniquely-themed rooms.

• For Science!: Science City is one of Kansas City’s best family-friendly attractions offering educational and interactive activities for kids of all ages. It is open 7 days a week and general admission is $16.50.

From Field to Flick: Which Chiefs Will be in Upcoming Hallmark Movie?

As filming is underway for Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, a few local celebrities will featured on screen.

• Swapping Pads for Makeup: With scenes from the movie being filmed inside Arrowhead Stadium, it makes sense that a few Chiefs players would be cast. OL Trey Smith, WR Mecole Hardman Jr., RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and DE George Karlaftis will trade pads for makeup.

• Special Guests: In addition to those Chiefs players, the film will also feature head coach Andy Reid (Big Red as Santa?) and Kansas City’s favorite mom, Donna Kelce.

Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story is expected to be released this Christmas season.

Jayhawk Football Calls KC Home (Temporarily)

As the University of Kansas continues renovations on the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, the Jayhawks will call Kansas City home for the 2024 football season. All home games will either be played at Children’s Mercy Park in KCK, or GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

• Aug. 29th - Lindenwood (Children’s Mercy Park)

• Sept. 13th - UNLV (Children’s Mercy Park)

• Sept. 28th - TCU (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium)

• Oct. 19th - Houston (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium)

• Nov. 9th - Iowa State (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium)

• Nov. 23rd - Colorado (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium)
