Cosmo Burger to Open First Standalone Location in the Crossroads

Cosmo Burger

Local favorite smash burger joint Cosmo Burger will soon open its first standalone locations in the Crossroads Arts District

  • Smashing My Way Downtown: Cosmo Burger has made waves in the Kansas City burger scene since opening as a carry-out-only pop-up inside Dodson’s Bar & Commons in Waldo in late 2020. Its popularity led chef Jacob Kruger to open a second location inside the Lenexa Public Market in 2022, which will close on April 19th in preparation for the new location.

  • ABC (Awesome Burgers in the Crossroads): The concept’s first brick-and-mortar will be Cosmo Burger XR, which will open at 1813 Locust St., just steps from other local favorites like Brewery Emperial, King G, Grinders Pizza, Mean Mule Distilling, and more. The Waldo location will also start offering lunch pop-ups on Sunday, April 20th.

Cosmo Burger expects the new location in the Crossroads to be open early this summer.

Royals Recruit Social Media Star to Prep the Field for Opening Day

Kauffman Stadium

Opening Day at the K is just a few short days away, and the field will be looking extra sharp, thanks to SB Mowing.

  • Grass is Greener: The Royals reached out to Spencer of the Wichita-based SB Mowing to help prepare the field for opening day on March 27th. However, SB Mowing isn’t your typical lawn care company. The Kansas State grad has amassed over 33 million followers across social media due to his positive yard care transformation videos.

  • Clean at the K: Spencer generally responds to calls from community members in need of intense yard restoration, which he then does free of charge. This call was a bit different, with the Royals requesting his services to condition the infield dirt, prep the sidelines, and mow the front yard.

Check out the video of Spencer prepping the field at the K HERE.
