KC Current Players Team Up to Launch a Coffee Trailer

Pitchside Coffee

Teammates on the pitch, teammates in business. Six Kansas City Current players have teamed up to launch Pitchside Coffee.

  • Current Coffee: While they aren’t busy maintaining the longest unbeaten streak in NWSL history, teammates Mallory Weber, Hailie Mace, Vanessa DiBernardo, Elizabeth Ball, Kristen Hamilton, and Desiree Scott can be found working on their recently launched coffee trailer!

  • Big Match Energy: Pitchside Coffee serves Grandview-based Notion Coffee along with chai tea and cold brew from KCK-based Kinship Cafe. They plan on serving pastries and ice cream sandwiches in the future.

Kansas City’s Most-Visited Destinations Without a Nonstop Flight

KC Daily

Since opening the new terminal in early 2023, KCI has expanded nonstop service to a variety of destinations across the country. However, according to data reviewed by the KCBJ, here are the top five most popular destinations without regular nonstop service from KCI:

  1. Raleigh-Durham International Airport - 125.6 average daily passengers

  2. Sacramento International Airport - 92.2 average daily passengers

  3. Jacksonville International Airport - 85.6 average daily passengers

  4. Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (Honolulu) - 76.8 average daily passengers

  5. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport - 71.7 average daily passengers

Let’s face it, layovers stink. Where do you wish KCI offered nonstop service to?

Sushi Kodawari Now Open in the Crossroads

KC Murals by Katie Lee (@ktleepaints)

The highly-anticipated Omakase Sushi Counter Sushi Kodawari is now open at 2100 Central Street in the Crossroads.

  • Small, Yet Mighty: The intimate space in the historic Meriden Creamery Building only seats eight, but the 15-course menu offers a mighty menu of fresh and seasonal fish from Japan and around the world.

  • Along for the Journey: The omakase-style menu is set each day, so there is no pressure to order food. The bulk of the menu features Nigiri (balls of rice topped with raw fish) and will rotate based on the best products available. See a sample menu here.

Although reservations for July 5-14 are sold out, you can follow along on Instagram to see when new rounds of reservations will become available.
