Closing Time. The Country Club Plaza Has a Sale Date

KC Daily

News broke towards the end of last week that the Country Club Plaza is about to sell to Dallas-based HP Village Partners LP. And now we have an official date.

  • It’s a Date!: According to a report from the Kansas City Business Journal, the deal is set to close on June 28th. The purchase price is not confirmed, but it’s expected to be well below the $660 million price that the previous owners The Macerich Co. and Taubman Centers paid for the Plaza in 2016.

  • A Big Deal: This is huge news for Kansas City, as the Plaza remains one of the top attractions in the Kansas City metro. The sale to HP Village Partners is expected to bring hundreds of millions of dollars in development to the Plaza in the form of unique brands, local businesses, office space, and housing.

HP Village Partners also operates Highland Park Village in Dallas.
