An “Ultra-Accommodating” Entertainment Complex Could Be Coming to Olathe
The Olathe city council has signaled support for a massive entertainment complex at 119th and Renner Road.
Family Business: The developer of the proposed project is Loretto Holdings, which was founded by Lamar Hunt Jr. Last week, the Olathe City Council approved a STAR (sales tax and revenue) bond district for 130 acres just off I-35 and 119th.
Fun For All: The district would be an “ultra-accommodating” entertainment complex for people with special needs, modeled after Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio, TX. It would feature an 18-acre amusement park, a 5,000-seat sports arena, a 150-room hotel, and 120,000 square feet of restaurant and retail.
