All-Abilities Theme Park Gets the Green Light in Olathe
An all-abilities theme park in Olathe is moving forward following City Council approval.
Green Light: The entertainment district called Olathe Gateway got the green light from the Olathe City Council last week when leaders approved a zoning change and preliminary development plan. Back in September, the City Council approved STAR bonds for the project, which is expected to cost $320 million.
Fun for All: The project is being developed by VanTrust Real Estate and Loretto Properties, which was founded by Lamar Hunt Junior. At the center of the development is an 11-acre theme park built for personas with all abilities. It will feature a zipline, sensory village, a 4D theater, and is being modeled after Morganâs Wonderland in San Antonio, TX.
Construction for Olathe Gateway is expected to begin this summer and finish by the summer of 2026.
