Slow Rise to Open Brick-and-Mortar in Overland Park

The wildly-popular sourdough doughnut pop-up Slow Rise is getting its own brick-and-mortar shop.

• Sweet & Sour(dough): Slow Rise specializes in sourdough doughnuts, and owner Jessica Dunkel has been selling (and selling out) out of local farmers markets and pop-ups around Kansas City and Lawrence. Last week, Dunkel signed a lease for their first brick-and-mortar space at 11228 W. 135th St. in Overland Park.

• Go Nuts, Doughnuts: The new space will allow for larger production and will serve coffee alongside their sweet and savory doughnuts. Slow Rise will continue serving its menu of favorites including Pandan Coconut (so popular it inspired a beer collaboration with Boulevard), Meyer Lemon Poppyseed, Everything Doughnuts, and many more.

30hop is Now Open at Merriam Grand Station!

30hop is now open in Merriam Grand Station, its second restaurant in the Kansas City metro.

• Hop On Over: 30hop entered the Kansas City metro with a bang in January, welcoming thousands of guests to its Lee’s Summit location. (1020 NW Pryor Road) This past week, the Iowa-based bar and grill opened its second metro location at Merriam Grand Station. 

• Burgers & Brews: The menu at 30hop is loaded with fan favorites for brunch, lunch, and dinner and 30 craft beers on tap. Fan favorites include the 30hop Burger, Truffle Cheesesteak Melt, Bang Bang Brussels, and the Yakisoba Bowl. They also offer one of the best happy hours in town: 30% Sunday-Friday, 3-6pm.

An “Immersive” Speakeasy-style Lounge Coming to Downtown KCMO

A new “immersive” speakeasy-style cocktail lounge is coming this summer to downtown Kansas City.

• Legend Has It: The Brass Monkey will open at 307 Admiral Blvd. Owner Mark Denton says the experience will be “immersive and intimate”, featuring staff dressed as different global characters, secret doors, an outdoor patio, and themed nights.

• Rock On: The Brass Monkey will share a building with The Riff, an upcoming 22-room music-themed boutique hotel and listening room which was announced last year. The Riff was initially expected to open this fall, but now aims for a 2026 opening.

The Brass Monkey is expected to open in early July.

Craft Putt Opens Its Doors in Lee’s Summit

Kansas City’s mini golf taphouse Craft Putt is now open in Lee’s Summit!

• Putt in the Summit: This past weekend, Craft Putt officially opened its doors at 840 NW Blue Pkwy Suite M in Lee’s Summit. This is Craft Putt’s second metro location, with the first in Overland Park (11440 W 135th St.) opening in 2022.

• On Par: Craft Putt Lee’s Summit serves as a restaurant, craft beer bar, and offers two 10-hole mini golf courses. It also offers a VIP room, perfect for parties, family gatherings, corporate events, and more.
