Kansas City Streetcar Authority

Happy Monday, Kansas City! The Kansas City Streetcar Authority has set a date to break ground on the $61.1M project to extend the existing route to the Berkley Riverfront.

  • Break Away: The Kansas City Streetcar Authority announced this week that it will host a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 am on March 1 at Riverfront Drive and Berkley Plaza.

  • Soccer Fans Rejoice: The new route will add to the existing streetcar route, adding 0.7 miles from Third Street and Grand Boulevard to the middle of Berkley Riverfront Park. The new stop will put the streetcar turnaround just steps from CPKC Stadium.

  • Inflation Did WHAT??: The initial price quoted for the project was around $21M, but after battling rising costs and adding .15 miles to the route, the price has risen steeply.

The Long Road Ahead

We know the NFL season just ended, but the buzz is already in the air for next season as the Chiefs released their list of opponents for next season.

  • Winners Bracket: Beyond the traditional AFC West games, the Chiefs will play the customary division winner schedule by squaring off against the other AFC division champions as well as the entirety of the NFC South.

  • What is It?: While the official schedule of when the Chiefs will play each opponent has yet to be set, some fans seem convinced that opening night will come against the upstart Houston Texans.

  • Heavy Lies The Crown: This coming season is sure to offer its wild games with the Chiefs having to go on the road for rematches against the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.

As the Chiefs look to three-peat, season tickets have never been more in demand. The team has already begun selling packages for next season on their website.
