Happy Tuesday, Kansas City! Kansas City Royals executives have begun to signal that while the team has not chosen a new location for the stadium, they have a favorite in mind.

  • How Did We Get Here?: In 2023, the Royals released renderings of what was thought to be the two potential locations in North KC and east of downtown. In the Fall of last year, word spread the team may be looking at a third site in the Crossroads.

  • A New Favorite: Executives have been saying privately that they now are considering the East Crossroads location where the old KC Star building stands as the new preferred location.

  • Location, Location: While the KC Star location is a late entrant, it would be prime real estate with the potential South Loop Link project and Streetcar going adjacent to the property.

If you missed yesterday’s newsletter, the Royals have made it clear that before they can do business with Jackson County, they would need the 3/8 cent sales tax extended in April’s ballot.

Pulling The Double Shift

Double Shift Brewing

Since the acquisition of Double Shift Brewing Company, Red Sash Brewing is closing its doors and moving next door.

  • Remember This?: If you remember from last month, Pat Mitchell, the owner of Red Sash Brewing took the opportunity to acquire a neighboring brewery in the Crossroads, Double Shift Brewing.

  • Two Become One: Since then, Mitchell has decided to close the doors of Red Sash Brewing and merge the business with Double Shift Brewing across the street, hoping to give the veteran community a place to laugh, share stories, and enjoy a drink.

  • Westward Expansion: Mitchell plans to use Double Shift to boost beer production and distribution in Missouri and Kansas with his business partner Ryan Elder.

You can visit Double Shift Brewing Company Wednesday-Thursday from 4-10, Friday-Saturday from 12-11, and Sunday from 12-6.
