Mahomes and Kelce To Open Restaurant

Monochrome Concept

The connection between Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce is extending beyond the end zone. The Chiefs duo is opening a steakhouse together in downtown Kansas City.

  • Lucky Numbers: 1587 Prime will be located in the Loews Kansas City Hotel. The name is a combination of their two numbers on the field, and the menu will contain ‘subtle nods’ to their careers. The restaurant will span 10,000 square feet and two floors.

  • World Class: The duo has teamed up with Noble 33, a global hospitality group, to bring the steakhouse to Kansas City. Mahomes and Kelce have frequented Noble 33’s concepts in other cities with Mahomes stating he wants to “bring something special to our own community in Kansas City” with 1587 Prime.

The restaurant has plans to be open in early 2025.

KCATA Receives Funding to Enhance Fleet

KCATA

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) has received $4.88M in funding to enhance its bus fleet.

  • From Washington to KC: The funding comes as a result of a bill passing through the House and Senate, and being signed by President Biden on Saturday, that will fund the U.S. Department of Transportation. The $4.88M allocated to the KCATA will be used to support the purchase of low and no-emission city buses.

  • The Mission: The KCATA has a mission to “connect people to opportunities through safe, reliable public transportation.” In addition to the city buses, the KCATA also oversees the operation and expansion of the KC Streetcar.
