• 🍂 First Fall Weekend: Get excited for food, fun, and festivities at the Overland Park Fall Festival this weekend in Downtown Overland Park! Festivities run from 4-8 tonight and 8-5 tomorrow.*

• 🐀 Funny Rat: Comedian Theo Von brings his Return of the Rat Tour to the T-Mobile Center Saturday night at 7 pm. Tickets start at just $40!

• 🎶 Love Song: The Lyric Opera KC presents The Brightness of Light, a semi-staged concert based on love letters between Georgia O’Keeffe and her husband Alfred Stieglitz.

• 🤣 Laughs on Stage: Actor and comedian Nick Swardson takes the stage at Uptown Theater tonight at 7:30 for his Toilet Head tour.

• 🎉 Tower Party: The National WWI Museum and Memorial hosts its annual Night at the Tower gala on Saturday evening. The spectacular evening features food and drink, live entertainment, dancing, and more in support of the museum’s mission.

• 🏎️ Need for Speed: The Kansas Speedway hosts a variety of NASCAR events throughout the weekend, culminating with the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday afternoon.

• 🍻 Prost!: Head to KC Live! Block at the Power and Light District on Saturday from 3-7 for Oktoberfest Live! The event is open to all ages, with food and drink packages available.

• 🍎 Apple Season: Ciderfest at Louisburg Cider Mill kicks off this weekend! The event features pony rides, inflatable slides, craft booths, and (of course) a huge variety of apple treats.

• ⚽️ Gooooallll: The first-ever Current Fest takes over CPKC Stadium starting at 10 am on Saturday. The match against Gotham FC kicks off at noon.

• 🐇 Rabbits & Tigers, Oh My!: The Rabbit hOle is celebrating the re-release of Sam and the Tigers by Julius Lester on Saturday from 11-3. Activities include a dramatic read-aloud of the book, churning your own golden tiger butter, crafts, and tiger-striped pancakes!

A Drew Brees-backed Pickleball Concept is Coming to Kansas City

Kansas City isn’t dinking around when it comes to pickleball. A new indoor pickleball facility called The Picklr is coming to the metro.

• Pigskin to Pickle: The Picklr is backed by legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and was first launched in Uintah, UT, in 2021. According to the website, the franchise is planning five clubs across Kansas City, though no further details are provided.

• Pickleball Central: Rumor has it that the first location may be coming to a redeveloped Rosebud Plaza in Olathe. Amenities would include indoor courts, ball machines, a pro shop, private events, and more.

The Picklr boasts 275 locations across the United States.
