Former Cerner Campus Finds New Life

KCBJ

After driving past the sad but beautiful remains of Cerner’s Continuous Campus in KCK, Kansas City residents will be happy to learn that the site was recently acquired with the goal of turning it into a host of new apartments and office space.

  • Residential and Office Space: The development will feature 200+ residential units in the north building, offices in the south building, and retail spaces in both, creating a live-work-play environment.

  • Left Behind: The project brings to the forefront the fact that 1: Kansas City is growing and will continue to have a need for affordable apartments, and 2: the buildings left behind after Cerner’s acquisition by Oracle could be a great pivot into meeting that need.

  • Tax Boosts: The new live-work-play areas could generate up to $3 million in tax revenue, nearly doubling the space’s current output towards Wyandotte County.
