Fountain City Comedy Festival

The fourth annual Fountain City Comedy Festival returns to Kansas City October 23-25, 2025, bringing 50 top comics for 20 hilarious shows.

  • Fountains of Funny: The festival spans 10 unique venues across four neighborhoods throughout Kansas City. This community-supported festival celebrates Kansas City's independent arts scene while showcasing national talent. Weekend passes and individual tickets are available now, offering comedy fans an unforgettable experience.

  • Up Next: The lineup of comedians includes Kansas City's Aaron Branch (Netflix's Unstable), viral sensation Heather Shaw, America's Got Talent's Ahren Belisle, and comedy veterans Eddie Pepitone, Kyle Ayers, Chloe Radcliffe, and Jay Jurden. Each night takes over a different neighborhood—18th & Vine, Midtown, West Bottoms, and Crossroads—featuring shows, happy hours, and after-parties at venues like The Gem Theater, El Torreon, and recordBar.

Brew at the Zoo is This Weekend at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

Who’s ready to party like an animal? Brew at the Zoo returns to the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium this Saturday, October 11th from 6:30-11pm.

  • Brew Bears: The 21+ event features samples from over 30 local breweries and wineries, along with food trucks and live music throughout the Zoo. Brew at the Zoo guest also get access to GloWild: Time Traveler, the zoo's immersive lantern festival showcasing a mile-long walk through handmade sculptures.

  • Beer for Birds: This year's event highlights the rhinoceros hornbill, with proceeds supporting the Zoo's Conservation Fund to protect this vulnerable Southeast Asian bird and other species. Tickets are non-refundable but transferable for this rain-or-shine, cashless fundraising event.

  • Tech Takeoff: The bistate region saw a 10.3% increase in tech job postings and 4.1% growth in tech businesses from 2023-2025, with more than 225,000 technology professionals contributing $12.4 billion to the combined economic impact. Kansas City ranks as the second-most cost-effective market for technology employment nationally.

  • Heartland Innovation: The metro area's tech sector accounts for 9% of the local economy, outperforming larger markets like Chicago, Indianapolis, Nashville, and St. Louis.
