The former Kansas City Star building at 1729 Grand Blvd is one step closer to opening after years of redevelopment.
Grand Revival: The historic building is being reimagined as Grand Place, a 250,000+ square foot mixed-use development that will contain a European-style market, food hall, office space, and more.
New Era: The Star called 1729 Grand home for over 100 years, and now the building is undergoing a $95 million redevelopment to bring it back to life. The project also recently secured PACE financing to assist with energy-efficient improvements.
Developers say the first phase of Grand Place is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
