The Shucker’s Union to Open as a Dedicated Oyster Bar This Winter
The Shucker’s Union, a dedicated oyster and cocktail bar, is set to open in the East Crossroads before the end of the year.
Bucket List: The ~40-seat bar at 1739 Oak St. won’t have a kitchen. Instead, it’ll serve oysters by the bucket, shrimp cocktail, smoked fish dip, and lobster rolls alongside bubbles and martinis. Inspired by Seattle’s The Walrus and the Carpenter, the raw bar takes center stage, so you can chat with the shuckers before a show at Grinders.
Aw, Shucks: Chef Brandon Hayden is KC’s first Certified Oyster Ambassador. He runs the raw bar at The Parker Hollow and threw the city’s first Oyster Fest back in May. He sources directly from farmers and plans to host oyster farmer nights.
