What Are Airbnb Prices During the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup just 175 days away, and teams knowing their match destinations, Airbnb prices are skyrocketing as visitors from around the world plan trips to Kansas City.
We took a look at the prices at five random listings on Airbnb for a two-night stay (June 15-17) for the first match in Kansas City on June 16th. Here they are:
BKS Carriage House: $1,700
2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 6 guests
Downtown Castle: $6,141
6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 8 guests
Overland Park Cottage: $1,969
3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 6 guests
Plaza Apartment: $2,297
1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 3 guests
Near-Airport Retreat: $2,327
3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 6 guests
Midtown Mansion: $37,415

🚦Beating Traffic: Kansas City received a $750,000 federal SMART grant to upgrade traffic management across 28 municipalities and over 750 signals, helping the region handle increased traffic during the 2026 World Cup.
📚 Building for Books: The Mid-Continent Public Library is eyeing the former Independence City Hall at 111 E. Maple St. The library would demolish the old building and build a new administrative HQ.
🍴 Lounge Eats: Starting this Friday (12/19), Le Lounge inside Hotel No Vacancy in the Crossroads will start serving hors d’oeuvres. Dishes include Tofu Dip & Chicharron, Ranch Snack Mix, Reverse Ham & Cheese, and more.
🙅♂️ Growing Opposition: Leawood Mayor Marc Elkins announced opposition to a new Royals stadium on the Aspiria Campus in Overland Park. Leawood city limits extend to the east side of Nall Ave. and 119th St., just steps from the proposed location.
