Kata Nori to Open Second Metro Location in Overland Park
Kata Nori, Kansas City’s only sushi hand roll bar, is opening a second location in Overland Park.
Sushi Down South: Kata Nori will open in Hawthorne Plaza at 4929 W. 119th St., the former Andre’s Confiserie Suisse space. Renovations are underway to add a 20-seat sushi bar, a dining area, and a cocktail bar. The team is working on expanding the menu at this new location, but remaining similar to the Crossroads menu.
Rollin’ Up: Kata Nori opened in the Crossroads in 2023, being the first in the area to serve sushi hand rolls. For those unfamiliar, hand rolls are seaweed-wrapped rolls filled with rice and raw fish, meant to be eaten by hand immediately after serving. Kata Nori also serves crudos, sashimi, small plates, cocktails, and cold sake.
Kata Nori is expected to open in June ahead of the World Cup.
