The Coach Coffee Shop is Coming to Leawood

Coach Coffee Shop

Yes, the same Coach that sells designer handbags. The Coach Coffee Shop will soon open in Leawood’s Town Center Crossing.

  • Handbags & Hot Coffee: The Coach Coffee Shop will open along with a Coach retail location at 4311 W. 119th St. in the former Rockhill Grille space. As of now, there are just 4 other Coach Coffee Shops in the U.S. (Austin, TX, Tinton Falls, NJ, Central Valley, NY, and Elizabeth, NJ). It will join two KC metro Coach retail locations at Oak Park Mall and the Plaza, as well as a Coach Outlet at Tanger Kansas City at Legends.

  • Put Me In, Coach: The trendy coffee shop will serve a full coffee bar and baked goods. The shop is perhaps best known for (and gone viral for) its Coach purse-shaped cakes and Coach latte art.

Coach Coffee Shop Leawood does not have an official timeline, but a fall opening is expected, according to a press release.

A New Restaurant & Speakeasy is Coming to Downtown Overland Park

A new restaurant and speakeasy will open in downtown Overland Park in the former Buffalo State Pizza Co. space.

  • Premium Pairing: Tyler Morrison, founder of Scratch Gourmet Kitchen in Prairie Village, will open Telia, an American restaurant at 7901 Santa Fe Drive. According to the KC Star, Morrison is still playing with the menu, but it will be a “premium, quality restaurant but not high-end,”

  • OP, Al Fresco: The basement will feature a speakeasy called Night Owl serving premium cocktails. According to renderings from Finkle + Williams (pictured above), the building will include an open-air rooftop overlooking Santa Fe Drive and W. 79th St.

Telia and Night Owl are expected to open this fall.

Historic Crossroads Building to Feature Rooftop Bar, Residences, Retail

Pluribus Architecture

The Holtman Building, a 1917 industrial structure in the East Crossroads, will soon see new life thanks to a historic redevelopment.

  • Home @ Holtman: The Holtman Building is being brought back to life by Molzer Development, a Kansas City-based real estate development firm led by 24-year-old Zach Molzer. It will feature 40,000 square feet of office + retail space, eight loft-style luxury apartments, and a rooftop bar with views of the KC skyline. The rooftop bar is expected to open in May.

  • Magic Carpet: Molzer Development is also transforming the 101-year-old Aladdin Hotel in downtown Kansas City into 122 modern apartment units. The 16-story high-rise will maintain its 1920s character through adaptive reuse strategies, and will also feature a rooftop bar. A June opening is expected.
