Historic Epperson House to be Converted Into a Boutique Hotel
The historic (and rumored haunted 👻) Epperson House on the UMKC campus will be converted into a boutique hotel.
Check-In to History: UMKC has partnered with Sunflower Development Group to turn the mansion into a 14-room boutique hotel. The building has been vacant for a decade but will be reimagined to feature a hydrothermal spa, a full-service restaurant, and a small library bar.
Spooky Stays: The Epperson House has a rich history, being built in 1920 by insurance tycoon Uriah Epperson. The 54-room Tudor-style mansion cost $500,000 to build and featured a Great Hall, a custom organ loft, multiple elevators, an indoor pool, barber shop, and much more.
The Epperson House is located at 5200 Cherry St. on the south end of campus.
