The Netherlands Announce Base Camp in Kansas City
OnsOranje, the Netherlands national football team, will set up base camp in Kansas City during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Three’s Company: The Netherlands is the third team to announce Kansas City as home during the tournament, joining Argentina and England. All three are major contenders for the title, according to the latest FIFA rankings. Argentina is ranked No. 2, England No. 4, and the Netherlands No. 7.
Holland in the Heartland: The team will train at the KC Current Training Facility in Riverside, turning teal into orange. The Dutch will play Tunisia at Kansas City Stadium (Arrowhead Stadium) on Thursday, June 25, at 6pm.
I (Nick - creator of KC Daily) now have a backup team to root for behind Team USA. We named our daughter Holland after a trip there in 2023, where we also learned that TJ Maxx is called TK Maxx. Fun fact, huh? 👇

Three Reasons to Buy a 2026 Daily Dine Card
Our 2026 Daily Dine Card is your passport to exploring great local restaurants while saving on your next meal. If you haven’t grabbed yours already, here are three reasons why you should:
Support local restaurants - Running a restaurant isn’t easy, and getting paid guests through their doors is crucial to their success. The Dine Card encourages local diners to visit these restaurants in person, boosting the local restaurant economy.
Support your wallet - Let’s say you and a guest go out for dinner, and the food portion of the bill is $65. The Daily Dine Card would save you $13. If you use this card at just 2 of the 12 participating restaurants, the card has paid for itself. Use it at all 12, and we estimate you could save over $150!
Support KC Daily - This newsletter is independently owned and operated, and we receive zero outside funding. When you purchase a card, 100% of the proceeds go right back into improving our small local media company.
And if those three reasons aren’t enough, here’s another: use code datenight at checkout before this Sunday (2/15) to save $5 on your card!
